On the evening of April 5, 2024, I had the privilege of participating in a remarkable event hosted by the Caledonian Club in London. The gathering was organized by FuturED, a global foundation committed to sustainability education, and featured a silent auction where I donated a piece of my art collection.
The painting I chose to donate, “Winter Landscape with a Figure,” is a serene yet poignant creation. Measuring 20 x 25 cm and crafted in oil on board, this artwork was a centerpiece of the auction as Lot 5. Created during the quietude of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, it portrays a solitary man meandering through a snow-laden park. The scene, set against the silent, snowy expanse, symbolizes a contemplative journey through life’s complexities, offering solace and freedom amidst global uncertainty.

My decision to donate this painting was fueled by my commitment to supporting educational initiatives through art. The silent auction at The Caledonian Club was not merely about finding a new owner for this beautiful piece but about making a statement on the power of art to inspire and effect change.
The funds raised from this auction will help FuturED promote sustainable education initiatives worldwide. It was a night where the beauty of art and the spirit of philanthropy came together seamlessly, proving once again how art can be a powerful catalyst for change.
By blending the tranquility of winter’s aesthetic with the warmth of giving back, the evening was a poignant reminder of how art transcends aesthetic enjoyment and becomes a force for good in the world.
